About the Play

Set within a retirement community in Southern Florida, this new play captures the essence of quirky camaraderie, similar to beloved sitcoms like Schitt’s Creek, Grace & Frankie, and The Golden Girls. The narrative orbits around a diverse ensemble of individuals - some embracing retirement, others in the throes of their prime - as they navigate the intricacies of dating, aging gracefully, and pursuing their dreams. Together, this eclectic group weaves through life's highs and lows in their shared universe.

Meet the Playwright

Scott Miesse, a Kent State University B.F.A. musical theatre graduate (2015), quickly made his mark in NYC with national tours while developing his writing. His play "Abnormal" debuted Off-Broadway at Theatre Row in January 2020, following its evolution through Alchemical Studios readings and workshops.

In addition to his theatrical work, Scott is a Staff Writer for StavisFilm, where he contributes to TV, film, and media. He recently co-wrote a historical drama for Friends of Arrow Rock in Missouri.

Scott's latest project, "Piedmont Pointe," stemmed from his experiences vacationing with retired family members in Florida. He envisions this play as a tapestry appealing to all ages, bridging generational gaps and inviting diverse audiences to find common ground in its storytelling.
